Money for Nothing -- Dire Straits

With the directed action that people on the message board Reddit are taking against the hedge funds shorting GameStop, I couldn't help but think about this song. There are a lot of people making a lot of money for nothing by buying a stock being taken into a deliberate bubble.

On one hand, this song is heavily anacronistic. MTV is long gone. The appliance store that Knoffler was in is probably closed as well, because the chains all but own the field.

On the other, the basic principle's still the same. I've heard many a working class person exclaim similar ideas about those of the "non-productive" classes. The idea will generally be eternal.
